Jonathan Schwartzbard joined American Friends of Sheba Medical Center in October of 2022 as the Midwest & Southwest Regional Director of Development, where he is responsible for raising awareness and philanthropic support for Sheba Medical Center. Prior to joining AFSMC, Jonathan most recently had been serving as the Director of Campaign & Corporate Sponsorship at the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City where he oversaw Annual Campaign operations, managed the fundraising team & growth of the corporate sponsorship program. Jonathan participated in and completed Jewish Federation of North America’s Fundraising University, a year-long professional development & leadership training, as a member of Cohort V. Jonathan is looking forward to combining his love & passion for Israel and the Jewish community with the transformational work of Sheba Medical Center, to bring Sheba to the forefront in America.
Originally from New Jersey, Jonathan and his family made their way to Kansas City, his wife’s hometown, in 2012. Jonathan is passionate about supporting the growth and sustainability of his local Jewish community and is an active board member for many local institutions. Jonathan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Queens College in New York. He and his wife Kaley are the proud parents of Eliana (11), Noah (9) and Danielle (6), all of whom attend the local Jewish day school, the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy. Jonathan is a big sports fan: he enjoys playing in various rec leagues, collecting sports memorabilia, and especially coaching for his kids’ youth leagues whenever he can.
Jonathan is incredibly passionate about building community, networking and is a natural leader. Jonathan is inspired by the professionalism and cutting-edge research of Sheba Medical Center and looks forward to growing the Midwest and Southwest region.
