Advancing Care for Complex Wounds

Recovering from severe wounds, radiation injuries, and compromised tissue often requires highly specialized care—treatment that is not always accessible within traditional medical settings.
At Sheba Medical Center, that gap is being addressed.
Expanding What’s Possible in Healing
Sheba has opened a new state-of-the-art Hyperbaric Medicine Center, significantly expanding access to advanced therapies for patients with complex medical conditions.
Designed as part of Sheba’s Integrated Rehabilitation Hospital, the center enables patients to receive highly specialized treatment within a coordinated, multidisciplinary environment—without the need to seek care elsewhere.
From hard-to-heal wounds to radiation-related injuries and vascular conditions, the new facility strengthens Sheba’s ability to treat some of the most challenging cases in modern medicine.
A New Standard in Therapeutic Care
At the core of the center is hyperbaric oxygen therapy—a treatment that uses increased environmental pressure and pure oxygen to accelerate healing at the cellular level.
By delivering oxygen more effectively to damaged tissue, this therapy supports:
- Faster recovery from complex wounds
- Improved healing in areas with reduced blood flow
- Reduced complications from radiation injuries and chronic conditions
This approach, once primarily associated with diving medicine, is now an essential tool in advanced clinical care—helping patients recover from conditions that might otherwise lead to prolonged disability or even amputation.
Built for Both Routine Care and Critical Moments
The new center is uniquely positioned within Sheba’s rehabilitation infrastructure, enabling seamless integration with ongoing treatment plans and specialized care teams.
Located underground within the hospital, it is designed to continue operating even during periods of national emergency—ensuring uninterrupted access to life-enhancing treatment when demand is highest.
With the capacity to treat multiple patients simultaneously, the facility expands Sheba’s ability to serve both individuals with complex conditions and those recovering from trauma during times of crisis.
