Isha le’Isha: Woman to Woman

Women from around the world are invited to meet and honor Israeli giborot (heroes) during our Women’s Mission.

Mission to Israel (March 31 – April 4)

Isha le’Isha | Woman to Woman

From the front lines to the home front, from the surgical suite to the rehabilitation clinic, women are leading both in Israel and at Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest medical center, ranked top in the world five years in a row.

Israeli women are serving as combat soldiers and trauma medics inside Gaza, have treated 30 women and children hostages at Sheba; have founded medtech start ups, and for those commanding the home front: ensuring their family’s safety through incoming rocket alerts and stress from Aba’s absence. Register now.

We will meet some of the women leading Sheba including:

  • Professor Yael Peled, head of Sheba’s Heart Transplant program, who has seen a tragic increase in organ donations from war casualties
  • Dr. Galia Barkai, running Sheba’s ground-breaking “Sheba Beyond” virtual hospital remote care program
  • Caroline Barmatz, in charge of the hydrotherapy program that is giving new life to seriously wounded soldier and civilians.
  • Dr. Jordanna Koppel, a pediatrician originally from New York on duty in the ER on Oct. 7th, who was chosen to meet with President Biden when he visited Israel.
  • Wendy Chen, one of the social workers who received the hostages and their families.
  • Founders and CEOs of medical technology start-ups.

In addition we will:

  • Tour the kibbutz of K’far Aza next to Gaza, and hear about Oct. 7th from the perspective of a female member of the kibbutz.
  • Make Shabbat treats for soldiers with Adeena Sussman in a commercial kitchen in Tel Aviv.
  • Host a special event to honor the wives and mothers of injured soldiers rehabilitating at Sheba.
  • Volunteer to pick vegetables on a family farm struggling without workers.
  • Hear from some of Israel’s top female speakers, analysts and thinkers.
