Brian Abrahams has spent thirty-five years as a senior professional and lay leader in local, national and international philanthropic organizations.
He was with AIPAC for a total of fifteen years, including twelve as Midwest Regional Director where he grew total fundraising from $2.2M to $16M. He was with UJA/UJC/JFNA for a total of eleven years, most recently as Senior Vice-President for Financial Resource Development, where he led multiple initiatives including on multi-generational philanthropy, women’s giving, and major gifts fundraising.
He has worked in the private sector in national marketing and sales management roles with a number of technology companies. For one of them this included a year and a half living in Brussels, Belgium.
Among many volunteer roles, Brian was a board member and Development Chair for a Chicago Jewish day school where among other things, they quadrupled the annual campaign and ran a successful $8.5M capital campaign. Brian was also a founding board member of a new synagogue in Chicago directed at millennials that now serves 3500 individuals. Brian has three children and lives in the Chicago area.
