American Friends of Sheba comprises a growing number of branches across the U.S., including New York, Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles and South Florida. Abrahams, who is based in Chicago, has more than 35 years of experience as an executive in fundraising, communications and marketing in both the private sector and the world of non-profits. He has devoted extensive energy to promoting issues relevant to Israel as well as matters of local import. For 15 years he worked with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), including 12 years as the organization’s Midwest director. He also spent 11 years with the Jewish Federations of North America and its predecessor organization, the United Jewish Appeal.
